Aims and Scope

The International Journal of Disaster Studies and Climate Resilience is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal that aims to advance interdisciplinary scholarship and practice in disaster studies, disaster risk reduction, emergency management, climate-change adaptation, and climate resilience. The journal provides a platform for research that improves understanding of hazards, vulnerability, exposure, risk governance, preparedness, response, recovery, and resilience-building across diverse social, environmental, technological, and policy contexts.

IJDSCR welcomes original research articles, review articles, case studies, methodological papers, technical notes, short communications, perspective articles, conference reports, and book reviews that make a clear contribution to disaster studies and climate resilience. The journal is particularly interested in work related to disaster risk assessment, mitigation and recovery; climate adaptation and resilience planning; nature-based solutions and ecosystem-based disaster risk reduction; geospatial technologies, remote sensing, GIS, artificial intelligence, participatory mapping and data-driven approaches; humanitarian action and public-health emergencies; community-based resilience; social vulnerability, equity and environmental justice; policy, governance, education and institutional dimensions of disaster risk; and sustainable development in hazard-prone regions.

The journal’s primary readership includes researchers, teachers, postgraduate students, disaster-management professionals, climate-resilience practitioners, policy makers, humanitarian agencies, civil-society organisations, and professionals working in environmental management, geospatial sciences, public health, urban planning, infrastructure resilience and community development.

Manuscripts should present original, rigorous, ethically conducted and clearly argued contributions that are relevant to disaster risk reduction, climate resilience, or closely related interdisciplinary fields
